Here is what I have been working on lately. They are stretchy and one size fits all. I use real swarovski crystals and genuine precious stones like the Tiger Eye shown here. You choose the color and I will customize it for you.

Bazaar 2009

I am happy to announce that I am participating in a Bazaar this week and have been working like crazy preparing items.  Here are a few pics to share.

I hope it is a success.  I will be adding some of these to ETSY at the end of the week.

BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  In honor of my mother, I have designed a necklace.  This is a lariat and can be worn many different ways.  I am selling this necklace on my etsy site, Moonstar Creations.  50% of the proceeds will be donated to Susan G. Komen.

Cross Stitching

I have decided I am going to start cross stitching again.  It has been a long time since I have cross stitched anything so I am sure to be rusty, but I am sure I will get back into the swing of things.

I am going to start with something for Thanksgiving.  I will show you the finished product, but I can't guarantee when that might be. 

I have found some websites that offer free patterns as well as a website where you can make your own patterns.

Relay for Life

Cancer touches every family at one point or another.  My mother is a survivor as well as my friend Becky.  They both recently participated in the Relay for Life.  To honor them, I decorated these bags which housed candles lit for them.  Though I wasn't able to attend, I was with them in spirit.

Book Review

I have been excited to learn how to create wire jewelry for a while now and have found there are a variety of 'how to' books available. I spent several hours searching through several books until I finally settled. Making Wire Jewelry and more (getting started series) is a great book for beginning wiring. It shows which tools are needed to created your collection as well as what type of wire to use for certain designs. I found the instructions were easy to follow and have made several great pieces. In addition to giving instruction on individual pieces, it also shows you how to make fasteners and other findings.


I recommend this book to anyone who wants to get started making their own wire jewelry treasure.

Welcome to my new blog site. I hope you like it. I decided that I like to blog about more than just my jewelry, so I decided to change the name. I still have my ETSY site and will continue to have contests, so come back often, subscribe, and follow.
